1950 Mercury Coupe Rental Added in Oklahoma

Rent Picture Cars has added this 1950 Mercury Coupe to its network through USA Movie Cars. The vehicle is located in Edmond, Oklahoma, giving productions working in the region direct access to a period-correct classic without needing to transport cars from farther away. Crews filming in Oklahoma can now consider this coupe for projects that call for authentic 1950s vehicles.

Spotlight on this 1950 Mercury Coupe

The listing shows a two-door coupe finished in deep burgundy, described as the factory-correct color. The car is presented as 100 percent authentic inside and out with period-correct 1950s details throughout. It retains the factory three-speed manual transmission with column shift and has been converted to 12-volt electrical for improved reliability on set.

Producers can use the coupe’s visual details to support scenes set in the early postwar years. The brown interior and overall factory appearance provide a consistent backdrop for character vehicles or background traffic. Because the car is shown as reliable and ready to run, it can move under its own power for shots that require driving sequences or repositioning between takes.

Rent Picture Cars and the Oklahoma Picture Car Market

Rent Picture Cars works with the USA Movie Cars network to connect productions with vehicles listed across multiple states. This 1950 Mercury Coupe in Edmond, Oklahoma, is one example of how the network supplies local options for crews shooting in the region. USA Movie Cars coordinates with state picture-car sites such as Oklahoma Picture Cars so that location managers and picture car coordinators can search for vehicles close to their production base.

Oklahoma continues to host a range of film, commercial, and photography work that benefits from access to vintage cars. Having a 1950 Mercury Coupe listed through the network reduces the need for long-distance transport and helps productions stay on schedule when they need an authentic 1950s vehicle on short notice.

History of the 1950 Mercury Coupe

Mercury introduced its postwar coupes in the late 1940s and carried the body style into 1950 with updated trim. The two-door configuration was popular for both personal use and as a stylish alternative to four-door sedans. Factory colors such as deep burgundy were offered to appeal to buyers looking for a richer appearance than basic shades.

The 1950 model year placed Mercury between Ford and Lincoln in the company lineup, positioning the coupe as a mid-tier choice with more presence than an entry-level car. Column-shift manual transmissions were standard equipment, and many examples remained in that configuration through the decade. The body style and details from this era continue to read clearly on camera for any scene set between 1949 and 1955.

Oklahoma Picture Car Rental Uses

This coupe can supply period texture for establishing shots of 1950s neighborhoods or downtown streets in Oklahoma. Its factory-correct exterior and interior allow it to serve as a character vehicle without additional set dressing. Productions can also place the car in background parking areas or along curbs to fill out a scene without drawing attention away from principal action.

Commercial and still photography crews working in Oklahoma can use the vehicle for product shoots that reference mid-century themes. Music video directors and event planners have similar options when they need a vintage car that looks correct for the 1950s without modern distractions. The manual transmission and running condition support any sequence that requires the car to be driven on camera.
